Sorry Richard, I tried to do a "remove" for ID4372 but by the time I hit submit, the "remove" had turned to a "confirm" :

I think this has happened before...
1. I select "remove" from the drop-down box (I definitely did this)
2. I find the place on the map
3. I click on "update co-ordinates"
4. I add a comment and I hit submit
The reply comes back:

Quote:
Thank you for submitting POI information to us. Here is what we have recorded:

Confirm 4372 66 Putney High St (Shopping-Halfords), Lat:51.46458, Lon:-0.21547 (No longer a Halfords - \"Bike Hut\" now. Bike Hut seems owned by Halfords so more stores may be converting. This one is still shown as a Halfords on their store locator though!)

as if sometimes the box resets when I update co-ords, or hit send.

Is it just me, or is this the standard reply and I should stop fretting?

Same thing happened to me a few days ago when i was trying to edit the location of some poi's local to me. I thought it was my fault and i forgot to select the correct option from the drop down menu, seems though that this may actually be some kind of bug. I was using Firefox 2 if this has any relevance to the issue.

When you Select the ID of a location, it fills in the details of that POI. The default selection will always go to Confirm, and then has to be changed.

I believe it was thought that this would be the most used Option.

Personally I think Change would have been a better Default. That way if there were no changes in the location details it could be queried.

Sorry for calling you Oldie instead of Oldboy... Embarassed

Does it have to change at all once you've already selected it?
The way the page is laid out I always say what I want to do first in the drop-down box and then move down to the map. Apart from a quick glimpse to check the lat/long and ID got filled in, you tend to move on down the page, because you know you've already done the bit in the box. Sad

You were right the first time. Richard (Oldie) has the hand on the rudder of the POIs. Smile

I just respond to requests from Ric...., I mean Oldie. It confuses me sometimes. Laughing

I agree. I got caught out the first few times I used it. Perhaps that particular box needs re-locating nearer the Submit Button!
