|
|
I bought a TT910 last saturday and am very pleased with it.
Just one minor problem. The suction pad that attaches it to my car windscreen does not hold it in position very well. On a few occasions (once or twice a day!!) it comes unstuck from the windscreen.
Luckily I was able to catch it, but this is not very good for safe driving!!! Anybody else had any similar problems?
Is there any better accessory available for attaching the TT910 to the windscreen securely?
I always make sure the winscreen is clean of dirt and grease before trying to attach my TT910. |

It has a double 'click', the first secures the balljoint, the second secures to the screen.
Some time back TomTom were issuing a free replacement as there were some faulty ones. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Be aware that the newer mounts can take a considerable amount of pressure to rotate the locking ring into the first stage click, then even more force is needed to get the ring to position two.
I find it easiest to put the mount on the screen and lock it into position BEFORE attaching the 910, once the unit is on the mount you can fine tune its position by backing the locking ring off to the first click, adjust it then lock the mount into place. (First click locks to windscreen, second click locks the ball joint) - Mike |

In addition to the second click (I don't actually hear anything, just feel a sort of "click" move), my windscreen has a dark border. It's made up from small black dots and they were the cause of my problems, preventing the suction. Once I positioned it not so close to the edge of the screen, the mount stayed firmly in place. _________________ Dennis
