XDA2 7 digit postcode search

Hi

I know many people are having issues getting 7 digit postcodes to work with the PPC edition.

I had this problem and trawled the net for resolution to no avail. I had a play with my XDA2 and the postcodes work fully if you copy the zip folder to the program files\Navigator folder of your unit.

Enter postcodes with no spaces at all and they appear to work correctly. I just entered my own code and also S80 3LT, although this came up unamed the position of the mapping showed correctly as Wellbeck Abbet near Worksop. The actual postal code is for Wellbeck Estates next door.

That is one way to get postcodes working but it consumes a whopping 9,6MB of memory on the device and if you power out/ hard reset it will disappear.
A better way is to put the zip folder in the root of the storage card, placing the postcode file into it, in addition create a folder in the root of the storage card named TomTom and postcodes will then work from the card saving the precious little memory you have on the device - it might seem a lot at the moment that is available, but over time you will fill it up - Mike
