Wired or Bluetooth?

Having lots of experience of wired TomTom GPS receivers but none of Bluetooth ones, can anyone explain why there is any point whatsoever paying extra for a Bluetooth GPS receiver for an in-car system?

With the wired unit, I just have one tidy cable to plug into the base of my iPAQ and off I go...

Given the limited battery life of the ipaq, I would still have to connect my ipaq to an in-car power supply so I'm no better off.
Furthermore, I also either have to connect the GPS unit to a power supply too or go to the trouble of recharging it regularly.

Am I missing something wonderful about Bluetooth units for in-car use?

Bluetooth comes into its own if you regularly use different cars, different Pocket PCs in the same car, or you want to use the GPS away from the car.

If you routinely use the same Pocket PC in the same car, and don't want to use GPS away from the car, wired is probably the neatest solution (assuming you don't have one of the handful of machines with no serial port), and it's cheaper too. Wired can be a bit of a pain if you also use a keyboard - you have to remember to disable the keyboard driver to use the GPS, as both want the serial port.
