As Shaun says, it's splashw.bmp. There's also a suspendw.bmp which shows when you switch off.
The link DOESN'T tell you how to do it though, it's just somewhere for everybody to show their own offerings.
Simple instructions ...
Get yourself a picture and get it into a picture editor program (I use Photoshop Elements 4, I think I've seen mention of people doing it with Paint).
Resize it to 480 x 272 pixels.
Save it as a Bitmap, called splashw.bmp.
Go into your 710's card and you will find splash.bmp in the root directory. Change its name to splashold.bmp.
Copy your own new splashw.bmp into the root directory and that'll become the new splash screen.
You can do the same with the suspendw.bmp.
My splashw.bmp is just a nice picture of my wife and me. The suspendw.bmp is just a picture of my wife with the text "Remember to take me with you". Nothing fancy, just personal. _________________ Dennis

Can't see why it'd make a difference but, I've recently sorted a prob for a guy with a ONEv2 that gives pause for thought.
He sent me the bitmap he was failing to load repeatedly and I found 2 things :
First - I sent it back after I rotated 90 degrees right as per ONEv1 - No load
Second - I edited in paint & re-saved as 24 bitmap ( original was 8 bit ). Still rotated, mind. Sent that back & he's got it up & running.
DennisN - in case you were wondering - the w in splashw probably stands for 'widescreen'.
Not exactly an acronym but.... sorry, I couldn't resist!
Still walking off the Mince Pies, everybody ? Good!!!! |

So the rotate/not rotate bit is a red herring. It just needs to be 24 bit colour, rotated 90 deg. clockwise. |

As I understand it, you rotate for the x00 series, don't for the x10 - that's what I've done successfully with my two.
You know the other day I thought I'd got a new acronym to ask about - "hirve" - but I'm beginning to have doubts. I'll reconsider when I've built a big enough list to make it worthwhile asking for translations.
For anybody who cares, I've got rid of the "won't switch off with ignition" for my 710 and (praise be) also the speed limit bit, by going back to App 6.020 - my 710 purchased 1st December came with App 6.110. (But I've lost the suspendw feature, shame, one improvement I really liked). _________________ Dennis
