I've had one of these for Xmas. Plugged it into my GO510 docking station and switched it on. Nothing has come up or anything. Have plotted a journey and nothing. There were no instructions in the package - am I missing anything or is this bad one? It doesn't seem to work at all!
cheers. |

What version of software have you got loaded to your device? tap the sat strength meter to find out if its not the latest 6,522 then connect the device to the PC and use TomTom home to update to the latest application. To get an idea of the screens you should be looking at please have a read of THIS - Mike |

Thanks Mike. Firstly, my fault I think. I disconnected and reconnected; I then got a the tuning symbol on the top right. Maybe I didn't connect properly previously...
Secondly, thanks for the post re this. I have just read it and have attempted to tune it. However, it can't find classic FM and just keeps searching (I assume that is the case anyway). I guess I'll have to try when I'm away from home. It's strange though, because I can pick it up on the car stereo.
I will email you re the POI file. |

Does it take a little while to tune into Classic FM first time around? I waited around 5 mins and it didn't find anything (although I got on the car stereo).
cheers. |

It can take up to 10 mins when scanning IF you are in an area with good coverage, sadly the UK isn't too hot when it comes to Classic FM coverage - where are you located? - Mike |

Uh dear, that is a known black spot as far as I am concerned, I visit the Hanley area quite often, you can get 101.1FM about 15 Miles North of your loc'n - Stoke is about as good as Blackppol for RDS TMC - Mike |

OK, I've been to the Jewllery Quarter in Birmingham today. I went from Stoke on Trent via the M6. Once past Stafford and near junction 11, it finally picked up a signal and connected all the way to the JQ. Coming home, it gave me an alert of a traffic jam just past junction 14 (a 7 mile jam). I got the alert coiming out of Birmingham. As I got to Stafford (junction 13), I lost the signal again and it didn't pick it up all the way through Stoke. Therefore I assume a bad patch from south of Stafford all the way to north Stoke. On the plus side, the overhead signs on the M6 did say there was a queue after junction 14. So it worked a treat (I left and went up the A34).
Is there anything that can be done about the blackspots? Anything TomTom are doing?? |
