I have a GPSmap 76 and X51v, what next ???

Hello all,

erm, I have tried to search for the info, but I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction as I am sure it is already on these boards somewhere...


I have a GPSmap 76 with mapsource Canada on it. I also have a dell X51v... I would like to run the x51v as a car GPS ?

what cables, SD capacity, other software (do i need tomtom)?, car mounts/ power supply, to run the systems together...

Oh and what 9 pin serial to USB do people recommend, and I also have a suunto watch that has a 9 pin serial cable... I am presuming the converters cables are not specific to the Garmin product... and that this cable will solve my problem... i bought a converter cable previously but it was a load of junk...

To connect X51v and GPS76 in car, you can use GPRX50

Yes you will also need software for X51. Depending on where you are, there are plenty of choices which I am not in a postiion to give you any recommendation.

Is your watch also a GPS and you want to connect it?
I do not recommend doing that for navigation purpose though it is possible.
