I have seen a number of threads about where to source replacement batteries for an iCN510. My battery is toast and I have a replacement battery, but I am having difficulty opening the case to get at the old battery.

I can see the 4 small cross head screws towards each corner of the rear case panel. Is there another screw (perhaps under the antenna flap behind a 'rubber bung'?).

At the moment I have undone the 4 screws. Where is it best to prize apart the front and rear parts of the case? I would be grateful for any help or advice. I do understand that I would be doing the repair at my own risk!

Many thanks

Brian

Cracked it! It is just the 4 screws. Best to start the opposite side to the ear phone socket / volume control and gentle prise apart using a wide but very thin screw driver or knife. Be very careful separating the front and back, take your time to see where the antenna cable lies.

The original battery has two small foam pads to prevent the battery vibrating within the case. Simple stick the pads onto the new battery. Also be careful when pulling the original battery plug out of its socket. Also ensure the new battery plug goes in the same way as the original.

Overall a fairly straight forward task.
