hi all
strange question, i have been reading the above posts about this adapter and im not sure if i have a duff adapter...

i have a h2210 ipaq and this adapter running tom tom 2 navigator.

so far the adapter seems very tempremental i have tried it and for the first few seconds it tries to look for satalites but then it seems to crash.

i have changed the settings to nmea 01832v2 4800 and rikaline__cf hs gps

now i have got it running kind of. if i leave the power connected to the ipaq the gps seems to be fine.. unless i change a setting then it crashes...

if i remove it from the power it seems that 50 sec later it freezes up.

also when i try to restart the gps after this it will not talk to the software.

am i doing something wrong or is it the gps module that is messing around.

any advise would be great.

thanks jay

Jay, If it keeps locking up then it sounds like you have an early firmware version that didn't work too well under WM2003, I had to update the firmware ont he review sample I was sent. Unfortunately updating the firmware isn't an easy task and you would need to send it back to Rikaline or the retailer you purchased from.

Rich, the main reason for using the NMEA 0183v2 driver in TomTom Navigator is that TomTom tweak their drivers and if you use the NMEA0183v2 driver then it's untweaked and should work providing you select the correct COM port or sub driver.
