|
|
Hi - I've just downloaded and installed the latest map (Western Europe v660) on my TTGo700 (app ver 6.520). The map looks OK but I've lost my favourites and other settings, by the looks of it. I made a backup before and after installing the map, any idea how to recover the favourites?
Thanks

copy your MapSettings.cfg from your old map file to the new map file. |

OK thanks - I've just restored the backup as I'm on my way out and the update had lost my custom POI's (eg speed cameras) - I'll try again later...
Thanks again

No it hasn't....
There are SO many people posting the same thing.
I wish TomTom would put details on their download page or something.
The new map installs to a NEW folder and does not delete the old.
All POIs and favourites were stored in the original map folder, so you need to copy all poi .ov2 and .bmp files over to the new map folder.
Favourites are MapSettings.cfg (or 'mapfoldername'.cfg on older software versions) as said above. |

Why not have a top ten questions (FAQ) sticky
eg
If your One V2 (or sometimes other models) locks up, try a paperclip reset for 30 secs.
If you download a new map this will be in an additional map folder and does NOT replace your old map so very often you will need a larger SD card.
Your old favourites etc are in the old map folder & need to be copied across to the new map file (as do your speed cams etc).
plus; plus; plus |

Thanks, working now - agreed, this should be on the download page / faqs / confirmation email or something... |
