Favourites V POIs

I have TomTom 6 and I am still finding my way around.

Can anyone tell me when i should use a Favourite rather than a POI and visa versa?

To me they seem very much the same.

My own personal opinon is NEVER use a Favourite.

You can't be sure that it will transfer between Versions, or the various TT Platforms.

The POI on the other hand can be used on any TomTom, subject to the max number of categories, and even converted by something like POIConverter for use in other makes.

Much easier to keep a backup too.
