| I'm updating my freinds TomTom Go original it's only got a 128 Mb card in it and the latest program update won't fit I got rid of the poscodes for a temp measure and only left one voice plus got rid of all custom poi but i've only got 8.6Mb left and the postcode file is 9.42 I can't think of anything else I can delete to make room I even deleted the suspend picture can you help ? |

| Yes if I can't get arround it someway I'll have to tell him the postcodes won't work untill he gets a new sd card, I know costco sell a 1Gb one for £15 so a 256 should be very cheap. |

If you have only 8.6MB Free with only 1 Voice and no added POI's, you must have something on there that shouldn't be.
The GB Map is about 100MB and the Software is about 7.5MB plus the Postcodes 9.4MB, which computes to something using about 10MB of what should be Free Memory.

TomTom Ap 7.6Mb
English Tim 671 Kb
Various Folders that are empty
abd a few odd files about 1kb each
8.9 Mb Free
Need 9.41 Mb |

Like I said, you should have nearly 10MB Free, ;) even with the Postcodes.
Do you have a Backup? You haven't said which Device you have, or which Software Version you're using.
If you have a working Backup Copy, Format the SD Card, and then Restore the Backup to the Card. This should get rid of what is hogging your memory.

It was a TomTom Go Original I updated the Software to the latest the map was 5. something I did not do a backup. I've gave it back to him now saying he needs a bigger card.
It would be nice if someone could post what the essencial items are on the TomTom Cards so people know what is needed and what is junk. I've just bought a 510 and theres loads of stuff on the card and I'm sure some of it is not needed. Like the TomTom Home application.exe |

GO original (Classic), 300 (I think) and the One V1 only came with the 128Mb card so are really tight for space if you want/need latest firmware application. You can remove all voices except GB ones and TT Home stuff which may just give you enough space. |
