|

Hi all,
I am new to the forum and a new owner of a Navman iCN520. Please can anyone assist?, I have a new 'Assert Failure' (as I have checked other posts and can not find it) it is as follows;
Navigator\GUI\Unstable\App\DestWizard.c
Line:2004 Test:Country Result!=NULL
Can anyone assist me with a solution?
Please note that I have updated the Navman software via the Navman website (so the other Assert Failures should be ok) and I have also upgraded to a 1Gb SD card. I have a feeling it may be linked to this but have not got a clue.
Many thanks. |

Hi and welcome.
Is your new card fitted in the unit properly? If you remove the card wiles the unit is switched on you will get an assert failure. What read write speed is you new card, how many maps POI’s are on it, do you need them all active?
Regards

Hi DRP, Thank you for the reply, the card is fitted ok, I am not sure on the speed of the SD card (which is a 1GB viking interworks). Not sure on the POI qty, is there a limit to how many you can have active? I will need to get back to you with the qty (but there are the standard Navman + 16 my POI's), the POI's I have added are the post code and speed camera. I have tried the unit with my standard card and hard re-booted but get the same error when I try the 'address or POI' option in th Go To menu.
Cheers. |

Just a couple of suggestions/queries.
1. Did you format the new card in FAT.
2. Is the card described as an Ultra or High speed card because although Navman say 512Mb largest card to use you can use larger so long as it is 'High Speed'
3. Have you tried putting your old card back in the device and hard resetting the device to ensure it works OK without the new card? _________________ Gee-Pee

Thank you for the feedback, I have already tried the original card and get the same problems ie egg timer hanging there and a lot of times the assert failure message. I bought the SD card off ebay already formatted and ready for the Navman 520 with speed camera and post code POI's, so not sure what the problem is.
Thanks again. |

Hi
As a last option you could perform a reinstall of the software on the iCN. As long as you have the cd’s and you are the registered owner. After the install you will need to get you registered info from Navman by clicking on the tools icon on SmartST desktop.
You will find how to do it on page 69 of the user manual. The manual can be found under help on SmartST desktop. Make a backup of you iCN before doing anything.
Regards
