Ive been looking into getting GPS navigation for my car and i have found that a PDA with GPS is the cheapest and best way for me to go about doing this.
I dont have a PDA, but when I get one for navigation I will also be using it occasionaly for games, watching small movies, etc... (if im bored in class ). I would prefer pocket pc.
Anyways, I want to stay inexpensive, so I am in need of suggestions. What PDA should I buy that will suit my needs? GPS? If it is bluetooth, can i disconnect the battery and have it only run on my car battery, or can i bypass the battery by plugging it into a fuse I have setup? That way my reciever wont die after i use it 400 times.
I was looking at the Dell AXIM X5 300mhz version but after reading these forums ive seen people having a lot of problems with them.
Also, if it is possible I would like to see if I can get the GPS hardware without the bundled software because I have access to some through my company.
Please try and stay under $400-500 total. BTW I am located in Maryland, USA.
Thanks

Dang! I was just about to propose the Aldi bundle to you when I read that you are in Maryland... You will have to try www.Semsons.com then for the GPS receiver.
Another alternative would be the TomTom BT receiver but that one is a bit pricey. It does have a docking station which makes it easier to wire it into the car...
Any PDA will do as long as it has BlueTooth ;-) _________________ Lutz

The Aldi bundle is only sold in Germany and the UK.
The prices are very volatile. I would recommend you check them yourself at the above web site. _________________ Lutz
