I have the same TomTom GO as you and have never found any SD card that did not work in it fine so long as it was large enough. I now use 2GB SDs so that I can keep both USA and Europe in the device at the same time, but you may need less capacity.

Usual suggestions here are...

1 ) "High speed" (though how that translates into exact numbers, I'm not sure... x12 rings a bell).

2 ) Reputable "name" brand, rather than the cheapest you can find.

I've just bought a 2gb Datawrite card from Amazon for £17.70 including delivery. It works at least as well as the Tomtom card on my 510.

In principle, yes. But as you haven't told us how many maps you intend to install it is not possible to say with certainty that 1GB will be sufficient.

buy a 512 that will do and so will pretty much any make of sd card..

they come cheaper off the internet than your local PCworld.. 7 0r 8 quid plus postage i would say..

the new euro map comes on a 1 gig card for reference.. that has the full seven euro maps on it.. if u only want GB and france a 512 will do.. the original GB only map needs a 128 card.. GB plus major roads of europe needs a 256 card..
