Hi all.

I currently have Navman icn 520 and thinking about selling it to get other sat nav. I think the 520 is pretty good but the only downside is the postcode search feature, which isn't at all good.

I am aware that there will be a software upgrade available soon but I reckon it will be expensive with the additional of the latest maps. So I am pondering whether just to sell it and get another.

Should I go for the navman 530? or go with TomTom?

Which TomTom model should I go for as I am new to TT. My budget would be under £350 at most.

let me know what you think guys.

I have a TomTom 510 which is exellent, You can get one of these for under £300 if you shop around, Have a look here for an idea of how much one will cost http://shopping.kelkoo.co.uk/ctl/do/search?fromform=true&siteSearchQuery=tomtom+510&x=0&y=0

For more info on the TomTom 510 look here http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=210&Language=1

Or if you need full European street level maps you could get a TomTom 710 for under £350 look here http://shopping.kelkoo.co.uk/ctl/do/search?fromform=true&siteSearchQuery=tomtom+710&x=0&y=0

for more info on the 710 look here http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=211&Language=1

Cheaper still is the new TomTom One v2 which looks like a great device you can choose between Regional and European version's.

The Regional TomTom One v2 cost's £199.75 from here http://www.easydevices.co.uk/pp/Dedicated_GPS/TomTom_GO/TOMTOM_ONE_V2_GREAT_BRITAIN.html

The European TomTom One v2 cost's £269.08 from here http://www.easydevices.co.uk/pp/Dedicated_GPS/TomTom_GO/TOMTOM_ONE_V2_EUROPE.html (It's not available until 15th September)

For more info on the TomTom One v2 Regional look here http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=233&Language=1

For more info on the TomTom One v2 European look here http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=234&Language=1

I would recommend any of these TomTom's, I've never had a Navman so dont know what their like so cant compare between the two brand's.

If you go to the currys website and buy one from there the price shown is £293.60 but if you then enter the offer code perk20 then the price comes down to £273.60 with free delivery. I ordered mine on Tuesday and from DHL's website I see that it is on a van for delivery today.

with the addtion of software upgrade (smartST2006), which has the new postcode search facility and the latest maps, I think it will be expensive. I think it will be between £100 and £150. but I may be wrong. Just going on the current prices of the previous software upgrades. Example shown in link

The ONE is on. The virtual ONE does not display nothing. just a blank screen.
