I am quite happy creating my own custom POIs and the bmp icon to go with them, using Paint or Photoshop. What I am having problem with is the 'invisible' colour.

According to the help file in POI loader, Garmin state that magenta (RGB values 255,0,255) is compatible with most of their products as being invisible. This doesn't appear to be the case with the Nuvi, as my icons all show the magenta in areas that I wish to be invisible. I am wondering if this is because the Nuvi uses magenta (or similar) to show the route when in navigation mode.

I was just wondering if anyone knows what colour, if any, can be used as an invisible colour on the Nuvi for POI icons?

...or indeed with the i3 Sad

The icon that I use for temporary cameras in my Camera Manager/Updater software has a magenta border, and that gets displayed Confused

So, the key colour isn't magenta then - only another 16,777,215 colours left to try. Let me know when you've sussed it! Twisted Evil

When I saw that you had replied to this thread, I thought "excellent, ASH knows what he's doing, he's bound to have an answer" and then I read what you'd posted. I'm surprised Garmin haven't updated the help file in the loader if there is more than one unit that their advice doesn't work for.

I have also sent he same question to the Garmin support team, so here's keeping my fingers crossed that they have an answer. I know it must be possible, as the built in POI's all have borderless icons, which surely can only be done using an invisible colour. If they reply, I'll keep you posted.
