Wrong firmware flashed in GR-231

I have 'mistakingly' () flashed the firmware of my Holux GR-231 with that of the GR-236 model (GR236V5.s).
Upon reboot, my GPS unit would not funtion anymore: the unit wouldn't stay on, but I can forced to be on by holding the power button. Also the bluetooth part seems to work that way, but the GPS part doesn't send any data (tried SIRFdemo).
Is it possible to re-flash it with its original firmware or to get it to function again?

You might be able to reflash it but I don't think Holux make the firmware for the GR-231 available for download. Your best bet is probably to contact Holux and ask them if they can do a repair for you.

Alternatively you could just buy a new GPSlim 236 for £50

Yes, that's what I had in mind too.
I contacted Holux UK and this is what they told me:
