I have reinstalled XP on my machine and now when I plug in my XDA Mini S it cannot connect.
The computer realises its there, it installs something called Generic RNDIS (or something like that)
Nothing though, I have never had a problem with it. I just thought that XP would have the drivers that I need and ActiveSync would do the rest.
Any ideas? _________________ Tcepser

Are other USB connections OK?
Look in XP device manager, any alerts in USB?
Plug into the rear of the PC straight off the Mo board.
What version of ASync? 4.2 is the latest.
Look in ASync connections, is "allow USB" ticked?
Dodgy cable? |

Yes
No
Tried, same thing
4.2 installed
Yes
Unsure
So by the looks of it, it must be the cable. I hate when cables go though. Nothing has happened for it to suddently stopped working _________________ Tcepser

It was a clean install. And thinking of it, I have only installed the sound drivers, what other drivers might I need to install?
Thank you for your help so far by the way _________________ Tcepser

Installed the drivers. Nothing. Its so strange. I will pick up that its a Windows Mobile Device, but just will not connect. It wont even let me browse my files, Im not even bothered about syncing, just want to browse and copy things to my phone _________________ Tcepser

Checked firewalls, I have nothing there at all.
But dont worry, its all sorted :D
I tried in another computer and it did the exact same, so I thought it must be a problem with the device. I know it was a long way around but I have done a hardware reset on my machine and now it works.
By the looks of it ActiveSync has dissapeared from my XDA. When you go to comm manager it is greyed out. But I couldnt hookup the XDA to reinstall it. Difficult situation! All sorted tho
Thank you so much for your help mullet. Really is appreciated, as always _________________ Tcepser
