Just bought a PDA and TomTom GPS receiver from ebay. I've never used gps before and the PDA (XDA IIi) has no gps software. The gps hardware is TomTom, silver, 62mm square with the cable coming out of the corner. I'm guessing 4A01.900 is the model number and X4050075094 is the serial number. I checked on the stolen forum and it's not listed.
What is the gps hardware called and what gps software would you advise? Can you recommend a legal software source? Thanks.

Yes, I have the cable. It's very helpful to know that I don't have to stick to TomTom software, although having more options to choose from is not necessarily a blessing! I'm looking for something not too expensive and I only need UK maps. |

COOL! I have just dowloaded a freeware GPS programme (www.visualgps.net/VisualGPSce) so I know my hardware actually works. I can now give the ebay seller his feedback.
The best deal I have found for navigation software is £76 MobileNavigator 5 oncluding a 256MB SD card and maps for UK & Ireland.
Thanks for all your help! |
