Hi,
I was wondering, why dont camera submissions get added?
Is it because you cant confirm them?
Or am i doing something wrong with my submission...
ive submitted a red light camera twice now, just to make sure i done it right etc, i thought the first time i messed up, but again it didnt appear on this update, and the front page says all submissions have been added and credited, but my submission is not there again.
I'm not sure if mods have a record so they know which ones i submitted, but id be interested to find out if its just me messing it up, or theres a specific reason this one doesnt get added?

I'm afraid many of us are starting to ask the same thing
It seems to be taking a dreadfully long time to verify the submissions. Some of my submissions haven't been accepted after 3 months. I think that the verification is really important, I'm just disappointed that other people haven't verified the cameras that I've submitted!
I think a "ToBeVerified" section needs to be added to the database.

The db admin will have a record of what you submitted. _________________ Jock

We have had a total of 133 verified static cameras added this month submitted by 96 members. All members submitting the first report of these static cameras will be credited with lifetime memberships by 17:00 30June06.
meant they were up to date with them.
Whats required for verification? i offered to supply i photograph... surely thiers an easier way for things to be verified by the person submitting them, i.e a photo the long / lat with a photo of the speed camera (if possible of course... obviously impossible in some circamstances, but i certainly could do it for mine)

Up to date with the verified ones, I'm afraid.

The usual basis for verification is a 2nd submission by another subscriber. I'm not sure that the photo system would be any more reliable. Someone posted a photo recently showing a camera location, shortly afterwards someone else reposted it peppered with about 20 extra cameras. Ignoring the usual giveaways of different shadow directions, etc., how do you prove which camera actually exists. I know this sounds ridiculous, but we are talking about 2 different people using the existing system to deliberately add or delete the same camera. _________________ Jock

I agree.
I submitted a new camera 6 weeks ago and it has just appeared in this month's database. When I submitted the camera, it wasn't fully installed yet but all the infrastructure was in place (road markings, sensors in the road, camera post etc) but there was no camera.
The camera was installed a couple of weeks ago so there was a live Redspeed/Monitron camera on a busy "B" road in London which wasn't in the database until a few days ago.
These cameras are digital so you don't get a second chance with them. We need them in the database ASAP.
To be fair to the PGPSW team, it was the first new camera I had actually reported so I accept that they would want to verify it to maintain the quality of their database. Also, the position I gave was off by about 30 feet (it was still within the lines painted on the road, it wasn't spot -on).
They must already have a "to be verified" section, how about you guys make it public and we can help out?
Perhaps we could add a "confidence" rating to a camera submission. If someone submits a camera they could select a confidence rating from "1 - I think that's where it was, this needs verification" to "5 - It was safe to stop at the camera site and I marked the exact spot".
Just some thoughts, I'm pretty sure the guys are working on this already. _________________ Gone fishing!
I have recently seen a camera that has been on my route to work for the last 2 years just disapear in this months database.
The camera I may add is still very and truely there.
How did this come to be deleted? Two people must have verified this? There is something amiss.
Why also is the data base only updated once a month? Add them as they get verified. Surely this will help people.
As you can only get the database if you subscribe then we all should have a vested interest. Lets have a list of to be verified cameras and let us all verifiy them.
