TomTom GO Postcode search

Hi there - can somebody please help. I have a TomTom GO unit running version 5.42 software, and although I have the 'Navigate to... Postcode' option I still can only enter the first 5 digits of the postcode. I am finding it very frustrating as everything I read now says I should be able to use full postcode destinations. Can anybody shed some light on this problem. Thanks.

What model is it?
If is the original Go and not the 300,500 or 700 I think you will need to look into the map versions you have; if I remember correctly the maps shipped with the original Go (now known as classic) needed upgrading as well as the firmware version before 7 digits could be used.

Yes its the original GO (now called the Classic, I believe).
Are you saying I need to purchase a GB map upgrade before I can enter all 7 postcode digits. Smile

Or you could just download the postcode file from tomtom and run the program to install it on your Go
