Hi,
As I usually forget about my pda over the winter months
The battery goes flat and i have to go through the boring setup procedure
So I have just set it up so that I don’t have to
My question is I put checkpoint on to the sd card
But when I click on the icon it comes up with not a valid program
Or something like that
Does this program have to be installed from a pc?
Thanks |

When installed from pc it puts files in a checkpoint folder
In programs files 7 files in all
If I copy these files to the sd card
So if the battery goes flat I put these files back were they were
Will checkpoint work properly
Or do I have to use the setup program using a pc
These may seem to be a strange question
But I do not have a pc
And I am quite forgetful in not charging my pda
So then I have to bug my mate in setting it up again
Using his pc |

Why don't you buy Sprite backup. Then you can back up the entire contents of your PDA to your storage card, and if you ever lose it because your battery runs flat, you can immediately get back to where you were

Thanks robin
What a brilliant piece of software
I wish I had known about this earlier
Just one more question on check point
When you go into overlay settings
It says no image next to the speed cameras
How do I get this to show the pic of the camera |

I am using the single file cameras
But when I downloaded these through checkpoint

When you copy the OV2 file into your map folder, also copy across the bmp file and the camera icon will appear on your map as you approach it.
Not synchronised means that you haven't used CheckPOInt's automatic update facility. Now that the Pocket GPS files are subscription based, this doesn't work anyway.
If you expand the list of overlay files, highlight the safety camera file you put in your map folder, tap properties and you can then set up what warnings/messages you want to be played. I have the separate speed zoned files, so I have set up a speed warning which only sounds if I am over the prescribed speed

i've used checkpoint with tomtom 3 but now i've downloaded checkpoint v5 for ttn 5.21, checkpoint won't find the map i'm using and so won't work.
all i get on the overlay settings is ..... not sync'd....... and i can't expand anything.
i'm using a great britain map as installed by ttn in the default folder name.
any ideas would be much appreciated |

Silly question, but have you installed the OV2 and bmp files in the same folder as your GB maps. If so, expanding the overlay settings should show your safety camera files, and highlighting each and clicking proerties enables you to set up the warnings

yes robin, it all works fine for ttn, all the poi's work great. bmp's as well .
just checkpoint won't see the any of it. i wondered if its lookin for a different map name or something??
i seem to remember i had some trouble setting up checkpoint when i had it on ttn3 too. maybe i should re install the map?
if i fix it before anyone else has a solution i'll post and let you know how i did it.
just a thought... could it be cos i have another card with belgium map on from when i went on holiday? all i did was install each map on a different card and then swap cards when i needed to |
