tom tom 1 help

hi jus tried to install speedcams and voices on to tom tom1 but now tom tom has jus frozen i think i installed speedcams ok because it wasnt until installed voices that it froze. i tried to install voice file into voice folder but ovawrote sum file that was already there and it also said card was full? dont have install cd neither anyting i can do to fix?

Your card probably IS full if you've added all the speed cams and extra voices.
If you haven't done a full backup yet, do it now even if it isn't working.
You've probably not done anything irreversable yet, but if you lose your maps you are s****ed.

Once you've done that, you could try deleting some or all of the foreign voices to make some room (any files called dataxx.chk where xx is a number EXCEPT data04.chk and data05.chk - they are the English ones).

Then you will need to delete the file(s) you added into the voice folder; and finally get an original data.chk by downloading and re-installing the firmware from the TomTom site (free).

Hopefully that should get you back to where you were just after you installed the cameras, but now with a bit more spare room on the SD card (you can check that when the unit is connected to the PC by right clicking on the card and selecting properties).

Once it is working, do that full backup again. Then you can start trying to add the new voices once more.

hi thanx 4 reply. i never made a copy of card is there anything else i could try? aslo try deleting files i add but no joy. my friend has one of these tom tom 1 aswell could i copy his sd card and paste to mine?

i got it wrkin again now made a back up deleted cams and voices from back up and then copyed to the sd card seems to have done the trick.thanx for all the help
