|
|
I have just come back from a trip to Spain where I took my TomTom (Palm).
Before I left, I did the following
1. Took a backup of the "Great_Britain_Plus-Map" directory on the SD card
2. Deleted the "Great_Britain_Plus-Map" folder
3. Copied the "Iberia_Plus-Map" folder onto the SD card
Now, I had the Spain(Plus) maps loaded and everything was good.
I have come back from my trip and planned to do the opposite.. But now when I copy me "Great_Britain_Plus-Map" folder over, TomTom is telling me "No Maps Found".
Just to check that everything is OK, I have re-copied the Spain maps over and also tested a few others (i.e Benilux) and its fine.. Even the GB(non-plus) maps work.. Its just the GB-Plus ones which don't.
I will try re-installing them from CD and then reloading all my POI files, but does anyone know of any Gotchas which I may have stumbled upon??

I fixed it!
I re-installed the GB+ maps from CD and copied them to the SD and they were fine
So, I then added all my POI files and everything is still good.
Then I looked at my 'backup' and after removing all of the POI and 'known' TomTom files, I was left with 4 or 5 which were not part of the original maps.
2 of them were called "Great_Britain_Map" (not plus).. So, some how, there appears to be a mixture of Plus and Non-Plus in my backup.. This could be something I have done wrong at my end, but I can't see how, as I simply copied the Map folder from my SD to my Hard-Drive.
Anyway, its all working now.. The only annoyance is that my POI warnings are all disabled, so I have to go through them to try and remember what they were set for.
I would like to find out which file holds this info, so that I can back it up for the next time I travel overseas.

It's the .cfg File in the Map Folder. It will have the same name as the Map Folder. _________________ Richard

I have now restored it from a backup and all is working.. Phew!!
