GPSlim 236 can not find the computer

Hi all

I thought i'd first say hello to everyone here Smile

My GPSlim 236 has just arrived, and I gave it a full charge.

But I can not get the computer to see this device, so becuase of this the GPS Viewer can not detect the GPS receiver! Sad

Any ideas?

Bit late now, but Ive just found another cable in the box! its another USB cable with qa buldge in the lead, will try again tommorow

but I did manage to get it working, ot by cable though, by bluetooth.

I assume its the same problem a lot of people are having, so I will take pics of this lead and upload so everybody will then know what lead it is!

Are you trying to browse via a computer or PDA via Bluetooth or USB?

Hi,

You need a USB data cable to be able to connect to the PC from the GR236. The cable has a standard USB connector on one end, a mini USB on the other and a bubble along the length.
Sounds like this could be the cable you've already got, although it is not supplied as standard from any of the Holux UK retailers.

I amaged to get it working in the end
I was using the wrong cable

oh and its my PC i was conecting it 2

sometimes it take a few restarts to see it, then it goes down again
in the end u had to forget the USB cable and use a bluetooth dongle !

I can connect the 236 to my PC using bluetooth, but the GPSviewer software won't work.
This seems to be because the device is allocated to COM11 by the PC, and the software only goes up to COM 10.

Is there any way round this?

Also, although it connects to my PC I can't get it to connect to my PPC - iPaq 6340. This works fine with Tomtom device, but I can''t get it to pair with the holux.

Any suggestions?
