|
|
I downloaded the database onto my 610 back in December 2005 and it works perfectly. I have come back and I see that there is a new update ( which I want to get ). But on the list of Navmans , it does'nt mention the 610. Has this been taken off the list ? If it has , for what reason ?
Or can I use another of the Navmans on the list.
Please can somebody help as I REALLY need to get this update.
Thanks in advance. |

Nothing has changed, except the files are now in .asc format which require no editing to make them work with Navman devices. If you could use the database before, you can still use it now. _________________ Tim |

Thanks for replying so quickly.
Which of the Navman downloads will work with a 610 then ?
Will any of them work ?
Sorry if I am being a bit of a plum about this but I want to make sure I get it right.
Anything you can do to help would be appreciated.

Yes, any of the downloads will work.
Single File has every camera in one file, so you don't know what type of camera it is until you actually see it.
Consolidated by type will give you different files and icons for the different types of camera (Gatso, Redlight, etc.)
Speedzoned complete will split Gatsos into their speed zone, SPECS into theirs, etc. so you will have a different icon for each camera's speed limit, assuming the data is known. _________________ Tim |

|
|
Tim,
I hate to do this to you , but I am back again with another question.
I have an icn 610 and I downloaded the Speed Zoned Cameras.
I sat there and uploaded all of the different camera types/speeds and all was well. but when I checked out the POI's on my 610 only 6 were active
and no matter what I did I could'nt get the others to be active.
Is this because I am running on a 610 and don't have enough memory?
Or is it something I am doing wrong ?
I await your reply
Thanks in advance

Can you connect the iCN to your PC, open the Desktop, open the POIEditor and then click Device. There is an option to Manage POIs or something similar. Can you see how many POIs you currently have active, please?
You can also do this from the device, but I can't remeber how, offhand. _________________ Tim |

|
|
Tim,
From my PC going into POI Editor , using the Device drop down menu and accessing Manage POI Files. By doing this you get a list of all your POI's but it does'nt tell you if they are active or not. all you can do from this menu is choose to delete certain POI's if you want to.
Using the 610 itself by going through Settings / Alerts / Active POI , I can get a list of all my active POI's. Through this you can change POI's from active to inactive and visa versa.
It was from here that I noticed yesterday that not all the Speed Zoned Cameras were active. The only ones that were active were Gatso 20 , 30 , 40 , 50 and 60.
All the rest ( Gatso 70 , Var , Tba , all the Mobiles , Temp , Redlight )
were'nt active.
I hope you can understand all this !!

Yes, all understandable. From the device then, how many of your POIs are active? Do you have ay other Custom POIs other than the Camera DB ones?
Can you change the inactive ones to active on the device? Just highlight one of the inactive ones and press OK. _________________ Tim |

Tim ,
I have just been trying the very thing you are asking about.
As well as the various different types of camera POI's I have also got 3 types of petol station and 4 types of supermarket. all of these are inactive except for Shell petrol stations which I keep active.
Whilst I was using my 610 I tried a little experiment and I started to make active some of my inactive POI's ( as above ) and they all worked fine. But when I tried this yesterday with the other speed zoned cameras
it would'nt work.
Shall I just have another try again and see what happens this time ?

I'm a bit stumped, not having a 610, but on my 635 I can have all the speed camera files active at once. I'd be inclined to delete everything and start again, making sure that the files are active and set for audio and visual warnings at the point of transfer. _________________ Tim |
