If you are refering to houses in rural areas then your only hope are post codes, drive to the area and pray they have a name plate on the property or ask around

Entering 0 as the house number is the standard approach. I believe that this will navigate you to the centre of that particular postcode.
In reality, the average size of a UK postcode is 25 properties in urban areas, and many rural postcodes will cover as little as 3 properties - so you are unlikely to be that far off the mark.

My postcode area covers 20 properties some of which are at the end of lanes/drives 200 yards long ,the distance between some of them as the crow flies is 1/4 mile but by road its nearer 2 miles...Its no wonder delivery drivers are always on a short fuse

I dont know how many properties my post-code covers but I can enter it into any online mapping, Streetmaps, Maporama, etc. and it will allways centre a quarter mile from 'ere, das a lot of houses 'round here |
