Please could someone point me in the right direction so I can download a replacement data.chk file for the poi speed camera sounds.
I used to get them from http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php however they dont have any for my build (PPC 5.21 build 5431)
Thanks,
John |

Not seen that build, sure its not 5430?
If correct you may need to create your own data.chk. |

My TomTom also reports 5.210 (5431)
The build 5430 data.chk file does not work for me either. Strangely I still get the bells etc when I install it. |

The last time I tried to use a pre-built file or my own cooked creation with TTN5,21 build 5431 it failed to even boot, the TT would start then return to the Today screen/ desktop. In the end I re-installed TTN5,21 build 5430 using the CAB files and all was OK. One reason you might be still getting bells and cows etc. is you need to soft reset the device to load the new data.chk into memory did you do this? if you do you might find the problem I mention above will re-occur, I.e. drop back to today screen, if it does this re-use your old_data.chk (you did save this didn't you, when messing with files of any software package ALLWAYS re-name and save the originals - just in case)
I am not too sure if the 5431 issue has been resolved I contacted Ray Flanagan ( www.tomtomsatnav.info ) a while ago on this topic, I never found out if there is a fix other than rolling back to 5430 - Mike |

I did soft reset before I restarted TomTom.
I cannot roll back to 5430 as I no longer have it. Do TomTom have an archive of previous versions? I did save a copy of data.chk and that has been reinstated. |
