|
|
Hi all,
Has anyone managed to get an a701 working with Megalith's GPS Tuner? I've tried every setting I can think of but to no avail.
Tomtom is fine with baud rate set to 57600.
I suspect that GPS Tuner is not starting the GPS up as tomtom seems to? Is there a way to start it manually maybe?
TIA

Hmm, has anyone used Navio? I've had a play with the trial version and it seems to do pretty much the same. |

Did you manage to get anywhere with GPS Tuner? I've been having a look at their website and it looks pretty useful. |

No, it just would not work. I have had the trial period with both Navio & Pathaway which do the same thing and I really liked Navio. I will probably go for that one instead because Pathaway was a pain in the ass to calibrate the maps. |

Thanks. I've just given Navio a try and it seems to work ok. The only problem I found was I couldn't get out of full screen map mode, but that's very minor. Also found this site that allows you to upload your trip log and it converts it to a .kml for Google Earth - hours of fun :D |

I've just given GPS Tuner a go and it's working on mine. I used Auto Setup and it is using COM 4, 4800bps. |

Hmm, mine just won't work at all. Not to worry.
RE: the full screen map mode in Navio - just click the symbol on the right of the map screen that looks like a starwars tie fighter. |O| |

funny thing is GPS tuner works fine for me - just hit the start button...
where as TOM TOM does not auto start the GPS and I need to start it with an external program!

I've got it working now - Port 2, 57600 & Franson. I was just being too impatient and not giving it time to start receiving data |
