Is it all possible to broadcast my position to a piece of software or something? e.g. like a car tracker broadcasts its position to the tracker company?

Not currently, the new GO range has TomTom Buddies, this may appear in a v6 update.

The upgrade will most likely be free, updated maps will incur an additional charge should you want them.
