Has anybody else experienced TT Ones switching themselves off and requiring a reset even when the battery still has a good charge. I have seen this happen to 6 seperate devices and am just wondering whether this is a firmware issue that Tom Tom are not aware of yet. |

I have used my One almost everyday since Dec 28th and it has not switched itself off. I had to do a reset once when I did the first full battery cycle as it would not switch on.
my firmware is:
AK5SA BJNTN
App 5.420 (5643/051108) OS:1008
cheers

Actually this happend to me for first time the other day after several weeks flawless use.
I took the TT out of its case and it wouldn't turn on at all, even when plugged into car power (at first I thought I may just have left it on, but I've noticed an 'exhausted' TT still opens with flash screen then turns off).
Pressed reset and it was fine. Has been ok since but I now carry a paperclip in its case just in case!
It's a pretty sophisticated device so I think the odd lock-up is to be expected. Happens sometimes with pda and iPod too! |

I would never have believed how hard it is to find a "paperclip replacement" when you haven't got the real thing! |

It also works if you take the SD card out. It will re-boot the same as the pin reset. _________________ Richard

RU sure that's exactly the same? Would they have spent an extra penny on a reset button if they didn't need it? |

Well it works on my Classic.
Let's just say it's a TT oversight, similar to losing the POI count, before V5.420. _________________ Richard

My TTone failed to turn on the other day. Tried removing and replacing the SD card but it still didn't work. Had to reset it in the end. |

No don't buy the speed cameras from tt, at the moment they are free on this site. Heres the thread on how to install them:

Go to the top of this page and you will see a line of menu's, at the far right you will see speed cameras, click on this & it will take you to the download page. Download the database to your computer then follow the instructions on how to install in my first thread. _________________ TomTom Go 910 (3) v.6.522 Map Western Europe v.650 with useless TMC receiver
