Hi all,
i currently own a H6340 running pocket pc 2003, i'm having problems with a bluetooth gps unit.
The unit will connect but won't relay any information, in or out, and the PDA will dump the connection after about 2 minutes. I've confirmed that it is working through a friends PDA running symbian, and the same GPS unit worked fine with my old 1945 (now sold). The GPS unit's model number is BGP-2000. My h6340 connects no problem to bluetooth hands free kits and other moblie devices. One thing i did notice is that when i started up tomtom on pocket pc 2002 it looked for the device straight away, taking you to the bluetooth connections screen, it no longer does that and just runs the program. Are there any issues with PPC 2003 that anyone knows about as far as bluetooth connections go and/or Tomtom navigator.
Thanks for looking.... |

- Have you subscribed to the SPP service of the BT unit?
- make sure not to use an encrypted connection
- Use 38400 baud
- Make sure the outgoing COM port is enabled at the BT settings
- Use COM7 _________________ Lutz

Hi,
thanks for replying, sorry it's taken so long for me to get back.
I can't see how to change the baud rate? Can't find it on any of the options.
Many thanks |

I have a 6340. You need to pair it first time with the receiver from within Tom Tom. Go to Configure in GPS device in change preferences menu. When prompted for the type of device choose "Other NMEA" rather than "Other Bluetooth". Then choose likely com port. When you hit Done you get prompted for the baud rate. Start low - 4800 or 9600. See if that works, if not try other combinations of com port and baud rate.
When I first set mine up it took me a week and a visit to the Tom Tom site. Don't ask me why you have to use "other MNEA" rather than what you are really using "other bletooth" - thats just Tom Tom for you.
Good luck |
