Hi all,

I just purchased TT Navigator 5 for PPC, and have activated the UK maps. I now find that the SD card it came on is not big enough (128Mb).

Is it safe to get a bigger card and just copy everything across? or does that destroy the activation?

Cheers

Bob

I have no problem doing that with TT Navigator 5 USA on my iPaq. I can either copy the files over to the PC and back to the bigger card or reinstall the maps from the product CDs.

See my post above. I have no knowledge about pre-installed SD cards. That option is not available for the US. All my maps are on CDs.

Bob, welcome to the forum, use a card reader and make sure you select "show hidden files", in Windows Explorer, go to Tools then Folder options, view tab and select the radio button next to Show Hidden files.
Copy the whole lot accross onto the hard drive of the pc, make sure the PC has finished transfering the data then swap the SD card for the new larger one and copy the files back again, if you put the files into a folder on the PC make sure you copy them back so the files/ folder appear in exactly the same way on the new card - Mike

Mike

I also think it sensible to use a larger SD as I only have 1.5mb left and want add more POI's. I have a spare 512Mb and I need to copy the TT SD to my PC and then back to the spare SD. Problem is that it will not copy. It appears to although i get error messages (using copy & convert) and end result is that nothing appears on the PC folder except the folder name. I have tried sliding the protection lock without affect. I have also enabled 'view hidden folders'. I suspect I am missing something obvious!

Can you advise? I am running an XDA11 and Windows XP. Thanks
Murray

Murray, if you want to do this then use a card reader, not copy and convert which leads me to thinking you are trying this via active sync, if you are lucky this method might work but it will take ages, get an SD card reader for the PC if don't already own one - Mike

Thanks Mike

Yes I tried it via activesync. It took ages and it did not work! Looks like a card reader.

Well I purchased a neat card reader, Dazzle Zio, and I still have problems. It did not like data.04 and Munich.bin (whatever that is). End result only 8MB of 119MB will copy! And yes I checked the SD was not 'locked'.

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
