Device not showing local roads.

Hello all,
I've recently purchased a used TomTom Go 300. (I know, I know, I shouldn't have bought one used.)
It works just fine, with the exception that it does not show any local roads or points of interest. It is showing only major thoroughfares, and the only map that I appear to be able to access is Major Roads of the United States. (I'm in the USA, by the way.) When I hook the device up to my computer via the USB cable, and look at what's on the SD card with Windows Explorer, the SD card appears to contain both a US and a Canada map (along with other things) ... but I can't seem to access them on the device itself.
Any suggestions about why it's not showing any local roads, and how to get it to do so?

You have the Major Roads of USA loaded, and that's what you see. For local roads you need to load a state map.

Let me guess - you bought the GO without a product key for the maps? Well, in that case you will have to buy the maps again. There's no other way to get this running.

I have all of the original equipment. Where would I find the product key? And how is it used?
