Hi Ive just got TT5 for my P910i and it works fine with 2 exceptions - I cannot get it to download any extras from the TomTom website - everytime I get a message (eventually) that it unable to connect to the server. I can browse other sites okay. Any help for an internet phone novice?
Also I cannot see the speed camera software that was supposed to be included - perhaps I've missed it - what should I be looking for please?
Thanks. |

The speed camera software is not 'included'.
You need to either download the speed camera database from TomTom (paid) or this site (free) |

Thank you. I downloaded the software from here as the database is more up to date than the version that was being offered. Thanks.
Still no answer about the connection problem. Has anyone ever got through to TomTom support by phone? How long do they normally take to reply to emails?
Cheers. |

Paul, I haven't used the free month yet but all I can see being of use is the TMC.
Once I do, I'll tell you of my success or failure.... |

When you use a Tomtom plus service it uses your phones standard internet connection to access the Tomtom servers.
Do you have your phone setup for web browsing? If not then set this up first and then try again.
When I use the Tomtom Plus services, my phone asks if I want to connect using my standard internet connection. I say yes and eveything works fine. You just have to remember to disconnect manually after you have finished. |

Thanks guys,
I've found the solution - although I could use wap I needed a general internet connection. Although Vodafone were totally useless at helping me set this up I found the necessary settings at http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html.
It works fine now.
Thanks for your advice.
Paul. |
