WM5 was released to developers months ago.
Dell and other have been selling wm5 devices for 2 months.
Tomorrow I will upgrade my x50v to WM5.
In those 2 months tomtom have released an update for tomtom mobile and and an update for the GO.
The navigator update "is coming" well thanks.... excellent
Tomtom support for navigator is simply non existant Tomtom don't care but originally they were a software company and I think supporting all the GO units will be beyond them ultimately - when they start to need repairs etc outside of the warrenty and then customers start to bitch and complain when they have to junk the units.
Co-pilot 6 (even Alk have a WM5 product!) is looking good for my next purchase. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

GO support want be an issue going forward, if TomTom cannot cope they will just use a 3rd party and wash their hands of any responsibilty, GO users will get the same support that us Navigator users are receiving....
So Darren, you have the update then, is it going to be worth the wait, if not when will the CoPilot v6 reveiw be available, this seems to be our only possible alternative, or at least give TomTom a kick up the backside....
TomTom are going to struggle a bit over the coming months, first the Garmin ic3 can be purchased for £169 which is a lot cheaper than any GO unit, secondly TT support team are unable to cope at the best of times, just imagine what supports going to be like after christmas. |
