Acer n35 and TT5 - Satellite Signal Issues

My Acer n35 came with Copilot Live 5 which works ok and gets signals from 9 satellites. When I tried TT5, I struggled to get signals from more than two satellites. Even then the signals keep dropping off . Is this a software issue or hardware? How can I resolve this problem?

The signal strength meter on the main nav screen only has 5 bars, so it will not acuratley display the true number of sats, go to preferences, gps set-up and check how many it can see there. It must be more than 2 otherwise it would not navigate correctly - Mike
