Hey guys! I had a mio 168 and it got stolen from my car so now I bought the 268, I got really disapointed when I discovered that it couldn't do anything the 168 did so the same day I googled for customization and found something on http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28427&whichpage=1 This gave me hope!I followed the instructions on their site and installed windows CE 4.2 so that I could play video files and more on it. Now I'm still not quite happy with it.. I would like to install windows mobile 4.2 on it so that it get's the same features as the mio 168 had. I wonder if this is possible.. it should be, shoulden't it cuz it's almost the same hardware on both the mio 168 and 268 isn't it? I wrote and asked the guys at gpspassion.com but did not get an answer so I hope that someone here can help me with what I'm looking for... Would be greatly appreciated... Thnx guys

Jappe

Wowo, slow down...

The 168 is a Pocket PC. The 268 is a WindowsCE device. There is no way you can slap the Pocket PC part onto the 268.

You may be lucky to get SOME Windows Mobile programs to run on Windows CE but only if they do not rely on Pocket PC specific OS extensions (dropdown lists etc)

You did not install Windows CE btw, you merely unhid it.

Sad so there is NO way? Why isn't it possible to install windows mobile then? Where lies the restriction?
I mean if they could put windows CE on it, then it should be possible to install Win mobile?Isn't it like changing the OS on you'r pc?

Thnx
