|
|
I really hope someone can help me...
Just got my first smart phone, the Nokia 6680. I have my Tom Tom 5 installed but whenever I start the application I just get a 'GPS device not found' message.
The 6680 can see the GP-27 (which I have renamed in the phone as 'TomTom Wireless GPS') but for some reason that escapes me the application just won't see it.
Is there some COM port settings or something I need to change on the GPS device? If so, how do I do that?
Please someone, anyone help me out - I'm tearing my hair out!!
Thanks in advance - Ben |

Thanks chaps, I actually stumbled across it last night and got it working. Was too busy driving around having fun with it to update the thread!
All I had to do was select that option in Tom Tom and all was fine and dandy. |

I have a Nokia 6680, tom tom 5 mobile and CP-27 reciever. I however get itermittent failures, with TomTom stating no valid GPS reciever. On the intsructions for the reciever it gives a bluetooth pass key of 000000 (six zero's), however when I try to pair these up I get no Joy. I'm not sure if this is the problem or not. Has anybody else managed to pair these up or had similar experiences? |

I have the same problem (no GPS signal, No connection GPS,...)
I used a 6680 + Tomtom mobile 5 and GPS leadtek 9537.
I put the new firmware of Nokia V4.04.07. (last week)
Some bugs are corrected but not resolve all problems with the bluetooth connection
The connection is very difficult.
step by step:
1/ Start the GPS (waiting the LED green (recept of Sat)) 45sec
2/ Start Tomtom mobile 5 (it asks to activate the bluetooth) 15sec
3/ the Tomtom mobile 5 is ready.
(I used also nokia 6600 with Tomtom 3 and tomtom 5 without problem)
If somebody have a solution
Is it a know problem with The bluetooth?
The problem come from the TOMTOM with the bluetooth GPS.
(With my old firmware v3.03.11: Impossible to connect my GPS with the 6680 and Tomtom 5 (or 3) sometimes the connection was ready after 15min.)
I'm waiting a new firmware and a new updated from tomtom mobile 5. |

Where did you manage to get the new firmware? I'm stuck on 3.04.35 and keep getting memory errors and lock-ups all the time.
I've tried loads of places in the NW but no joy yet.
Incidentally, I've managed to pair with an EMTAC BT GPS with no probs. I just paired the device first through the bluetooth menu. Then started TT Mobile and changed the GPS configuration to 'Other GPS', then it brings up a menu of BT devices and I just chose the EMTAC. No probs. When I subsequently run TT Mobile it connects automatically without asking anything. |
