Perhaps the Device No would also be a useful addition to the List. _________________ Richard

I have used MENDUK.ORG to register my GPS
I have used this for my tv.video etc as well. read the below information from their site
The UK's National Property Ownership Database and Stolen Property Register.
Millions of possessions such as mobile phones, laptops, cameras, bikes, gaming devices, music players, in car entertainment systems and PC's are lost or stolen each year.
MEND is the UK's largest database of property ownership and currently holds the records of millions of personal possessions and business assets and over 4.5 million items reported as lost and stolen. Protect your possessions today FREE of charge, simply open an account and record your details.
If the worst does happen flag your item(s) as stolen or lost on your account and they will automatically show up on the national system used by all our partner Police forces, please see the Partner page for details of forces that use the system. This hugely increases the chances of recovery and prosecution of offenders. In addition the stolen/loss report will also show up on the second hand trade database www.checkmend.org making it harder for the criminal to dispose of the stolen item. |

The Device No would probably only apply to a GO, sorry. _________________ Richard

That is stored there also, along with the activation code.
Having said that, I tried it for myself tonight, and I couldn't access it!!
Have emailed TT to find out what's going on. Bit like one of their upgrades. :D _________________ Richard

Interestingly I asked them to disable the product and they asked me for both codes but when I returned just the product code that appeared all they needed
They did disable the TTG 300 from having future upgrades which is good!

I dont wish to appear flippant but...
GPS must surely offer the ultimate in crime detection. It seems ironic that a navigation tool can be stolen and no one know where it is..... |

To do that it would need to transmit a signal. A navigation unit is only a receiver.
If a dual purpose unit was to be produced, I'm sure that it wouldn't be long before Big Brother was looking over your shoulder. _________________ Richard

No dual purpose required... really... TT could include the current location in the request for traffic services...
Or you could load an app that transmits the last know location when powering on, and the current location when getting the first fix...
Of course that assumes the thief will program the unit to their own mobile phone... Or knicks your mobile with it... |
