odd directions

Can anyone help. My new 520 is giving me confusing directions on cross roads. On the 3d map if I need to go straight over, the map shows this, but some times the directions tell me to turn left then right or to turn right then left, when this direction does not actualy exist. I have phoned navman they said that this is down to bad map drawing on the junction. If this is the case then why does the software not alow for this, or is this a fault on my device. If I look at the map on these juntions there does appear to be badly joined lines, but this is only a small amount.
