Hi Guys,
As we are all aware, there are plenty of new PocketPC's and PocketPC Phone Edition devices going to be released within the next few months that run on the new Windows Mobile 5.0 OS (aka Magneto). I am a currently using Imate PDA2k.
I just wanted to know, when there will be an update from Navigon so that users of the new Windows Mobile OS 5.0 can use Navigon MN4 or MN5 on these devices.
Keep up the great work.
Best Regards,
Docc. |

Hi Stainy,
Are you sure about this or is it just a speculation. Why i am asking is because i checked the update section under dowloads on the navigon website which can be found http://navigon.com/site/int/en/service_support/download_center/243 here and it clearly shows that the upgrade is only for WM2003.
Can you please confirm again for me if Navigon MN5 works on WM5.0?
Regards,
Docc. |

Sorry for the delay, I don't get on here often.
MN5 works for definate, faultlessly on my XDAII running Windows Mobile 5.0 and a bluetooth gps receiver.
I think it ran MN4 also but can't 100% remember so don't quote me on this |

Windows Mobile 5.0 should not cause many software compatibility issues. Typically for Microsoft stuff there was a much bigger change under the bonet in the innocuosly named Pocket PC 2003 Second Edition, when suport for VGA and rotated screens were added. Any software which was updated to be compatible with this (such as MN4.2 and later) should have no problem on WM5.0.
Cheers

...well I asked the Navigon support personel today if it supported WM2005 and got this answer:
"Navigon stöder inte Windows Mobile 2005.
När det kommer att göra det, har vi tyvärr inga uppgifter om."
Which is Swedish and translates into
"Navigon does NOT support Windows Mobile 2005.
We have no information when it will"
So officially it does not support WM2005 but it seems to work for you guys...which is great !!
I Also want to run it and I have just bought a x51v from Dell with WM2005.
Could you use the regular installer or did you have to install the files manually ?
