|
|
Hi all - great site! In fact, in the end I bought my i3 on the strength of the comments on this website - I have not been disappointed!
I really cannot work out however how or where to get POI files from? I have the software on my laptop and am able to hook up my i3, and also realise that you need to upload *.csv files.
However... where do I get them from?!? Everything I find on the net appears to be in the TomTom format!
Please help! |

youll need to download some stuff to add pois
first youll need the usb drivers from the garmin website in the serch box type usb drivers then scroll down to the drivers for the I3 install them and restart your computer
have you done the 2.24 update for the I3 if not download and install this i have done it myself and think youll have to save the file then unzipit and then launch the software with the I3 connected to the computer
then download the poi manager ont the same page as the update you can download the poi manager program at the same time as you get the update file
ok still with me
then download and save the pocketgps camera database save this to my documents
find and unzip the camera file open the garmin poi manager then select maual install.
then select browse
go to my documents > pocketgps speed camera database >
and select csv files and then select "other" select maual install check the box for proximity alerts and either select a speed or distance away you should now have gasto mobile redlight mobile and continetal
once that has been done do the same for the speed zone files selet using the csv file
sorry its not in any particular order hope it helps a litte _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

jmp-78, use POI loader to upload files from MaFt who's done an excellent job for Garmin users from the following link:
http://MaFt.co.uk/misc/GarminPOIs.zip
This will also have modified bitmap files to enable icons to show on the Garmin and also has other very useful POIs and not only the speed cams.
Hope this helps. 8) |
