Hello all,

I have a cr100 mount for my t3, the system works great and seems to be an excellent piece of kit,

However i have one critism, the suction part of the windscreen mount keeps falling of the windon (very annoying) There are no splits in the plastic which secures to the windscreen, the only thing i can blame is the rather shoddy method of attaching the mount to the windscreen. This seems to let the cr100 down and is the only piece of the mount which causes me a problem, has anyone has any problems like i have.

thx

CannyDanny,
I ditched the suction mount and butchered an old nokia mount to screw it to my dash. I hate the wobbly nature of the suction mounts and just keep it to use in hire cars. I took the baseplate of an old nokia CARK-91 mount and, using the existing screw, added a plate the size of the slots on the actual cradle. It doesn't matter if its a bit rough and ready as you won't see it. I then screwed this to the dash and its spot on. If you don't like screwing into your dash simply do what I've done before and make an angle plate to mount the base on. If your stereo is high in the dash (for GPS reception) then fix it to the side of your stereo so it fits in the dash neatly.

There are loads of people who have removed their CARK-91 mounts in favour of bluetooth kits and you'd be amazed how many you find in the scrapyard (crikey, sound like a right pikey now!). My other half has the posh BMW and I still drive a 10yr old Pajero for towing the tin tent so I don't really care if theres holes in the dash but there are ways and means. And they're all better than the suction option.

My Pajero tends to vibrate like mad when in drive and you have your foot on the brake at the lights. But with the firm fixture its much better.

Hi,
Have you tried warming the sucker cup before placing it on to the windscreen? This often works very well. If it is unsuccessful contact your supplier who should be able to replace the gooseneck for you.
If you are wanting an alternative you can try the Herbert Richter solid mounts that are supplied by TotalPDA. If you cut the tabs off you will find the mounting plate fits in the runners of the CR100.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Julie
