WHEN THERE THE CODE I HAVE ON THE CARD WHICH CAME WITH THE TOMTOM DOES NOT WORK(IT'S NOT LONG ENOUGH-NOT EVOUGH DIGITS PER GROUP)
AND THAT'S WHERE I AM UPTO COULD I PLEASE BORROW SOMEONES CODE JUST TO ACTIVATE THIS BLOODY SILLY THING OR IF ANYONE COULD HELP IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM I WOULD BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.

Did it work before you tried the update to V5.xxx?
Is it the original SD card?
A little bit more information would help.
Also try to find the Caps Lock Key, as even at my age I'm not deaf, yet! _________________ Richard

Sorry forgot to add, they might help you if you show them your proof of purchase. |

Sorry to let you all down but it's not stolen
In reply to the one useful comment i received, the tomtom did work fine at level 4.xx but i wanted to upgrade the system to the new software and new map as the m6 toll road doesnot exist on the 4.xx. I have the original tomtom sd card intact and i have copied the filews onto another card as a back up for just this reason.
I have contacted tomtom but they want a proof of postage which i am currently looking for right now(not found it yet though)
When i put the original sd card back into the system it still works fine, however when i swap for the other it still asks me to visit the web site and get a code.
any further USEFUL NON SARCASTIC help appreciated.
Thanks |

So are you sure that you have a FULL Backup of the Original SD Card?
If you have, you could update the original card with V5.0 and it will bring your firmware upto to V5. Then do a Full Backup of the card again.
Put the new card into the TomTom, or Card Reader, format it and copy the V5.0 backup from the PC.
It's been a year now, but to my recollection the Product Code was on the CD sleeve. Is it the original V4.xx CD that you have? _________________ Richard

He shouldn't have any problems if he has the CD which came with Classic - as Oldboy pointed out, the product code is there and the activation code can be retrieved from TT website given the product code and the device code. |
