I have just got the John Cleese voice and have installed it on my Palm as I did with the other voices (i.e Yoda).. But it doesn't work.

When I select 'test', its silent and when I actually do a route, the Palm crashes.

Could it be that my files are corrupted, or perhaps it simply doesn't work on the Palm.. Has anyone else tried this?

Jon

I think the file might be corrupted!

I have used "viftool" on it and it says "corrupted file":

C:\TEMP\viftool>viftool split data97.vif
DESC: John Cleese
DATA: data97.chk
Found 2147483707 entries...
Invalid chk file!

Where as if I do this to another voice file, it breakes it out into the voice files that you would expect.

I am swaying towards the idea that the file is simply corrupted!

If this is a genuine voice file downloaded from TomTom then complain. if it's not a genuine file then please don't discuss it here.

It is not my intention to offend anyone who has legitimately purchased the voice, if you have done so then my comments are not aimed at you.

I am merely acting in response to a suggestion that we are not clamping down on posts discussing pirated versions of the John Cleese and other voice files.

If you have not obtained a voice file legitimately then please do not ask for assistance or discuss it in these forums.

When I select his voice on my T5 and then try to test it, I get a Fatal Error. Perhaps it is Fawlty Laughing However, my data file is data96.chk (downloaded from TomTom in the early hours of this morning). What is the 'viftool'?
