TTGO 500 - adding new POI's

When I try to add a new POI manually, I go to CHANGE PREFERENCES/MANAGE POI/ADD POI. The categories that then come up are only the ones I have added myself and the ones that came with Tomtom do not appear. I was trying to add an hotel into the Hotel/Motel category.
How can you add extra POI's into Tomtom supplied categories by using the GO?

You can't modify or add to the pois that come preinstalled.
