Can anyone explain how to read the TT2 compas in the GPS status screen?

It has a blue arrow, but is doesn't seems to point to the North?

Then the degrees, what do the mean?

I think I'm right in saying that if you point the arrow in the direction you're moving, north is then upwards.

What do you mean it (the arrow) doesn't seem to point to North? Mine appears to. The degrees reading is your current heading, where 0 is due North, 90 is East, 180 South, and 270 West, and the direction is from the top of the compass, forwards.

Admittedly it does appear a little sluggish in updating, same as the speed read-out.

Sorry

As you said - I got that completely the wrong way round. The arrow points to your current heading - so if you point the arrow in the direction you're travelling, up then is north.

As you say it's a little sluggish, also the direction of travel is only valid when you are moving.

The other thing to be aware of is that, unlike a magnetic compass, you are being pointed to true north, not magnetic north. Some GPS hardware can provide a magnetic bearing as well, most cannot.
