I spend a lot of time in Northern Ireland, does anybody know of the coverage of Northern Ireland and Eire, by any of the software products running on a Pocket PC platform ?

Unfortunately NI is very poorly supported by all companies. It's a country they thought they needed to cover, but thin it's sparsley populated, so you will see minor roads in a couple of major towns, but other than that, you'll just see a few major roads. |

I have to disagree slightly with Dave.
The Navtech maps on my Navman iCN 630 (which are practically the same as on the Navtech sleeeves for Pocket PCs) are excellent for all major Irish and Northern Irish cities including Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Galway etc, but as Dave said, the rest of the island is just represented by main arterial roads going into towns with no detail.
BTW Without sounding smart. No one in Ireland has used Eire as another name for the Republic of Ireland since the 1950s.
You might as well still refer to a country called Yugoslavia. |

kevmac,
Thanks for your input on the map coverage.
I used Eire because "most" people I speak to, cannot distinguish between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, yet they recongnise Eire, and I apologise if it offended you. I now realise that people using this forum will be far more aware of location names than most.
Any idea if/when Navman will be implementing 3D views on their Pocket PC product ?

No offence taken - but I am gobsmacked that there are people out there who don't know the difference.
